NEW Free STUN Membership!

STUN is here to help you expand your knowledge of Sybase Technology through a free networking forum supported by Sybase.
STUN maintains frequent contact with product managers and evangelists provides the latest insights into product direction. Our conference sessions are always of a practical nature, giving valuable training experience at each event. As an independent group our members provide information to enable you to make the right decisions about which software tool or application to use for various aspects of development. We are not here to support the sale of products, we are here to encourage and help the users of Sybase technology to get the most from their chosen products. Our members drive our services and direction. Our longevity (over 10 years) demonstrates our value, and the strength and loyalty of our members.

Although the main thrust of our efforts are directed towards helping the developer community, the group also stay in close contact with Sybase, and can provide a conduit for project managers to enable them to keep pace with Sybase technology and its use in fulfilling current development requirements.

Results of the Sybase Tools User Network Survey from the recent PB 10.5 Launch Event

The total number of survey forms submitted was 53, which was a fantastic amount.

  • Not surprisingly, PowerBuilder (incl DW .NET) is the most important subject matter, closely followed by PocketBuilder. Next is PowerDesigner, EAServer & ASA/MobiLink. After that Sybase WorkSpace appears, which is due to the fact that interest is slowly picking up in this new product. All other SY products other that those listed previously did not really get much of a vote.
  • The group still find Technical Slides & Demos the best presentation style and favour a one day/multi track event with exhibit hall, preferably in London. The committee may consider one event a year being in Birmingham, as a token gesture to those members north of London. A strong interest in Technical hands-on sessions as well as Hints & Tips was also stated.
  • As a group, their development style is mainly Client Server/Multi-tier, but followed closely by Web & Mobile, which proves our belief that Mobile is the way forward to Unwiring Enterprise data. Service Orientated Development of Applications interest is growing.
